City High School – CLOSED.

Two years ago, a special group of engaged students, families, teachers and community leaders, rallied to lay the groundwork for an incredible high school program. We built an exceptional school with rigorous academics, arts, experiential learning opportunities and an inclusive and supportive community in which students found their voice and thrived.

However, our high school journey was not without significant challenges: ongoing facilities challenges have contributed to lower-than-expected enrollment over two years, which created a significant operational deficit for the school. With heavy hearts, our Board and leadership team determined that the resulting financial and educational consequences were too great to sustain. We could not in good conscience continue down a path that would jeopardize the future of our students and the finances of the whole organization.

On Sept. 12, 2016, following a thoughtful process of research, problem solving, and deliberation, the Board of Directors voted to discontinue the high school portion of City’s program. At this juncture, we believe it would be irresponsible and not in line with our philosophy to run a program not up to the quality standards our students deserve- preparing them for college and beyond.
