Family Giving Campaign

We need YOUR help to make this a successful Family Giving Campaign!

Because of our amazing kids, educators and parents CLIC has risen to the forefront of bilingual education in Los Angeles and is a model for constructivist education.

The Family Giving Campaign is needed because the funds that we do receive cover only the basics and fail to fully fund many of the educational elements that we feel are mission critical to provide an enriching constructivist education rooted in diversity, community and educational excellence. Your donation goes directly towards our para-professionals, field trips, and arts programs in theater, music and visual arts. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Our annual Family Giving campaign help to offset the delta needed to sustain the type of programs that our families currently experience at CLIC.

How to make a donation:

This year we are striving for 100% participation from our CLIC familia with a goal of raising $225,000.

If you prefer to pay via check, you can mail in or drop off your donation along with the completed form below addressed to:

Why am I being asked to give money if this is a public school?

Without the funds we parents raise, CLIC’s budget will not support all the services our kids now have available including teaching assistants, theater, music, art, and field trips. Many of the top performing schools in California, both regular public and charter, supplement through family donations. Without fundraising initiatives such as ours, many public schools in California continue to rank quite low scholastically on a national scale.

Do charters receive less money than traditional public schools?

Yes. According to the California Charter School Association (CCSA), The gap can exceed $600 per pupil in base state operating funds. These inequities are often more significant than reported, because charter schools do not have equitable access to facilities or facilities funding, and often must pay for facilities out of their general operating funds.

I already volunteer at CLIC, why should I donate money too?

Volunteering is an essential and appreciated part of any charter school’s success. However, it does not diminish the fact that charter schools receive less funding than public schools, and that without donated funds, CLIC will not be able to continue to fund the services currently provided. For any charter school to thrive, it needs the financial support of its community.

Where is my donation going specifically?

Your donation will go to programs like art, music, P.E., field trips, and TAs in the classroom.

How much should I give?

We hope to have everyone participate, but we understand that everyone’s ability to give is not the same. Please consider giving a monthly recurring amount or make a lump sum donation. In the past, yearly donations have ranged from $50 to $5,000. Last year we offered a suggested yearly donation of $1,500 per family. Given our increased expenses, we hope families will consider giving $2,000 in order to meet our goal of $200K. Any amount you can give helps, so please don’t hesitate to make a donation!

Is donating mandatory?

Donating is not mandatory and will not affect your family’s standing with the school in any way.

Thank you for supporting our school and community with your financial gift!
