What is a Founding Parent?

  • A Founding Parent is someone who commits a specified number of volunteer hours to support the long-term success of a school before it opens, and gains a preference in the enrollment lottery.
  • Preference can only be given for up to10% of the school’s enrolled population.
  • The period of eligibility to become a Founding Parent is prior to the first day of operation of a school
  • Founding Parent (FP) status is open to all people interested in contributing significant volunteer hours to opening the School.
  • Founding Parents are not required to give financially to the school, and financial donations are not taken in lieu of volunteer time.
  • Being a founding parent is not a guarantee of admission to the school.
